Dr. Derek
Dentist
Dr. Derek graduated from the University of Texas at Austin before attending and receiving his degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston 2014. He strives to advance his education and training through continuing education, and has taken many (~50 CE hours/year) of advanced dental courses. It has been truly a journey full of challenges, experiences, and enlightenment throughout the years to hone and master his skills and practice of dentistry. He enjoys all phases of dentistry and treats all his patients with honesty and transparency, special attention, and great detailed care. He is easy-going and has a fun energy and patience especially with his pediatric patients.

Dr. Derek is experienced in performing all phases of general dentistry but with a clinical focus towards pediatric dentistry, wisdom teeth extractions, and oral and intravenous moderate conscious sedation. He is Level 3 Moderate Conscious Sedation and Pediatric Patient Sedation certified and licensed.
During his free time, Dr. Derek enjoys playing tennis, basketball and flag football with friends. He loves being active and strives for a healthy lifestyle. You can probably find him at the gym right after work. He also enjoys cooking and exploring new restaurants with his loving wife.
Dr. Thomas
Prosthodontist
Dr. Thomas Pickett has been a long-time resident of The Woodlands, growing up in the community and graduating from The Woodlands High School. He then graduated from Trinity University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Business Administration before earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston. Following that, he completed an additional three-year residency in Prosthodontics. Prosthodontics is the dental specialty of replacing missing or broken teeth.
While in dental school, Dr. Pickett met his future wife, Zelina. They now have been blessed with two young daughters. During his free time Dr. Pickett enjoys watching sports and rooting for the Astros, Texans, and Rockets. Dr. Pickett and his wife have also participated in many running events including several half marathons.
